In his parting words in Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus commissioned us to make disciples, baptizing his new followers and teaching them to obey his teachings. Therefore, we encourage every believer to be baptized during a corporate worship service. This sacramental act emphasizes God’s grace and reminds us that the church is a family. It is a holy opportunity to identify with Jesus’ death and resurrection and to publicly confess “Jesus is Lord” before others.

At New Life Downtown, we typically water baptize people the Sunday after Easter and another Sunday in October during the 11am service. A baptism class is held at 9:30 am to instruct and prepare each participant.
